I've been trying to work my magic on a few bar managers and party throwers in NOLA, and get a few nights organized. Got with the planner of my favorite little sweaty dive, The Saint, and made a mixtape for her. I wasn't really planning to post this anywhere, but a few people have asked for it. I've been away for a bit - i know. I'm back, though, and ready to make up for my absence.

I've been getting booked to play a few dj gigs here and there since I've been back around in the big sleazy. Mostly to play pretty cookie cutter club hip-hop to predominantly underage college crowds (lol).

My sister is in town for a few days. She is only here for a short period of time, and I often go years without getting to see her. Today she wanted to get a tattoo. She told me she wanted to get a Fleur de lis on her back.

So, I took her to the best place I know of in New Orleans. Electric Ladyland. It was her first tattoo, and she wanted to be relaxed. We smoked a blunt and came back to the shop. It came out great. She loves it.

Shortly after moving back to New Orleans, I was quite delighted to realize that I had returned just in time for the bigger-than-pride annual Southern Decadence Fest. This vaguely-named festival is hosted every labor day weekend in the French Quarter, and caters more towards the 'G' (as well as, I guess, the 'B') of the LGBT blah blah spectrum.

Although, it's quite obviously a 'cruise' cluster-fuck jammed into the 'gay side' of the quarter, it's filled with parades and daily events in case you didn't come to drink/find the man of ur dreamz. Like pride, gayz from all over the world flock to drink, and party, and not wear shirts, and become the leather daddy they've always wanted to be. And as long as you ignore the Jesus freaks who frequent the area holding outrageous anti-pretty much everything signs (yes, I have pictures), it's generally a great time.

LOL, k guys. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of my favorite 'I luv Jesus & H8 U' sign. This one listed the things that JESUS H8d.. The list included things like 'Little pot smoking devils' and 'Rebellious Women'

I can't really tell you much about the events or the parade, because I never woke up in time. It's hard to party with bears the night before (TRUST ME, these boys are the most fun to hang out with. Gays my age generally suck. And I'm OBVIOUSLY speaking figuratively..) and be at the parade or see DEBORAH COX LIVE at 11AM. Not that I was dying to do either. Anyway, GOOD TIMES.
